Aloha Shirt (Suika)

$275.00Price

This is a very breathable, lightweight, dead stock from the 1980’s. The fabric is a ecru cotton with black sashiko stitching. We hand dye each shirt with a natural Akane dye (the same dye they used to dye the red circle on Japanese flags apparently). The end result is similar to the inside of a watermelon, which is suika in Japanese.

Due to the narrow width of the vintage fabric and the limited amount, we can only make a few shirts total.

*Please understand that each shirt is dyed individually and there could be slight variations from one shirt to another.

- 100% cotton selvedge fabric

- Black thread sashiko stitching

- Deep Akane natural hand dye

- Japanese sea shell natural buttons

- Hand stitched button holes

- Hand painted sumi tag on vintage hemp fabric

The fabric is washed so there shouldn’t be much shrinkage once you receive the shirt
